Duties
- Supervise children during before-school and after-school hours, ensuring their safety at all times
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, including arts, sports, games, and educational projects
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic progress
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing appropriate accommodations when necessary
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire
- Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment
- Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, parents, and children
