Reliability Engineering Manager - Up to $160k + bonus
The Reliability Engineering Manager will lead a team of reliability engineers in the development and implementation of reliability improvement initiatives to drive equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs. This role is responsible for improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness of the company’s machines, processes, and facilities through the application of proven reliability methodologies and data analytics. This position reports directly to the Plant Engineering Manager and works in tandem with the Utilities Manager, Wastewater Manager, and Maintenance Manager(s) to maintain all of the facility’s assets. All work directed by the Reliability Engineering Manager will ensure compliance with food quality, food safety, and OSHA safety regulations.
Principal Duties
- Lead the Reliability Engineering team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of continuous improvement programs and other reliability improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement reliability improvement plans and strategies to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
- Collaborate with plant and company-wide operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and share reliability improvement opportunities and best practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode investigations to identify and resolve equipment and production system reliability issues.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Management team to develop and maintain preventative maintenance procedures and schedules to improve equipment reliability.
- Manage projects related to reliability improvement initiatives including scope development, planning, execution, closeout, and sustainability of improvements.
- Develop and maintain accurate equipment reliability metrics to track and measure progress, performance, and sustainability of improvements.
- Provide technical expertise to the maintenance and operations teams to aid in resolving equipment reliability issues.
- Drive the plant’s continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with the department MSE and plant leadership.
- Develop training, progression strategies, and curriculum for maintenance and engineering leadership, reliability engineers, and maintenance technicians.
- Remain current with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to reliability engineering and maintenance.
- Respond to emergency situations as required, including instances that occur outside of normal working hours.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Reliability Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in reliability engineering, industrial maintenance, and project engineering, with a strong focus on continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or TPM.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering management, leading and mentoring teams of reliability engineers, maintenance professionals, and technicians.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial controls programming (Allen Bradley/Rockwell preferred).
Expected Skills
- Strong understanding of reliability improvement methodologies and statistical analysis tools, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DoE), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM).
- Proven experience conducting RCA and failure mode investigations to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues.
- Project management experience, including scope development, presentation, planning, execution, closeout, and sustainability measurement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with company-wide cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to identify and implement solutions.

- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black/Gold Belt (LSSBB/LSSGB).
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
- Reliability Engineer Certification (CRE).
