About us
Component Enterprises is a family-owned and operated value-added distributor and manufacturer for the Military, Aerospace, and Industrial markets with over 55 years of experience. We manufacture, distribute, and stock a wide variety of electronic & electromechanical components.
The parts we ship connect to something larger: a Navy ship, an Air Force aircraft, a vehicle supporting troops overseas.
JOB SUMMARY
Component Enterprises is a family-owned supplier of electronic and mechanical components -- connectors, terminals, fasteners, and specialty hardware -- to the U.S. defense supply chain, in business since 1965. We are hiring a Warehouse Operations Specialist to manage the flow of inventory across our facilities: locating, verifying, documenting, and preparing components to fulfill customer orders and government contracts.
This is not a repetitive pick-and-pack role. — it requires someone who can accurately identify parts using government and manufacturer part numbers, work confidently within a large digital inventory system, and take ownership of accuracy and organization across our facility. The person in this role works daily in a large digital inventory system and is trusted to catch mistakes before they become rejected shipments. Strong attention to detail, comfort with technology, and a willingness to ask questions are essential.
Key Responsibilities
● Pull and stage inventory items daily using pick lists that include National Stock Numbers (NSN), manufacturer part numbers, quantities, and warehouse locations
● Cross-reference and verify parts by NSN, part number, manufacturer, and CAGE code before pulling or shipping
● Confirm part number, quantity, and condition match work order requirements — flag discrepancies rather than guess
● Receive incoming freight, check against packing lists, inspect condition, and assign proper storage locations
● Accurately update inventory records for every pull, receipt, relocation, and adjustment
● Prepare outgoing shipments, including proper packaging, labeling, and required documentation (government orders may require MIL-STD-129 marking)
● Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage areas across all warehouse buildings
● Support inventory relocation and reorganization projects as needed
● Learn and use company inventory spreadsheets, web applications, and custom digital tools
● Communicate daily with supervisors on progress, blockers, and discrepancies
● Cross-train on other roles to build flexibility and support other departments during peak periods
Required Skills:
· Good hand-eye coordination for handling small electronic and mechanical components.
· Comfortable using computers and technology daily -- spreadsheets, database lookups, and web-based tools are core to this job, not optional extras.
· Ability to learn new software quickly; this role uses custom in-house applications in addition to standard spreadsheets.
· Strong attention to detail -- able to match part numbers and codes exactly, character by character.
· Ability to read and interpret part numbers, NSNs, and manufacturer/CAGE codes.
· Physical ability to lift, carry, and move inventory items.
· Ability to work independently from a pull list once trained.
Preferred Skills:
· Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel experience (filtering, sorting, lookup functions).
· Experience with inventory management or ERP software.
· Familiarity with military/government part numbering systems (NSN, NIIN, FSC, CAGE codes).
· Forklift experience.
· Background in electronics, hardware, or military/aerospace component distribution.
What We're Looking For
We value accuracy, initiative, and pride in the work. This role offers a real growth path — into senior operations, sales/RFQ, government contracts, or sourcing — for people who show they can think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership.
