Overview:
We are recruiting for a Field Engineer to join our team in the Virgin Islands. The Field Engineer will work closely with the local Project Manager, Lead Field Engineer, and account teams to assist in all aspects of deploying and supporting the network hardware and related systems. Candidate must have the ability to work independently, troubleshoot, remediate radio frequency (RF) link issues, complete site surveys and coverage tests.
Responsibilities:
- Drive to various locations around the designated area to conduct site surveys
- Update database containing the status of devices
- Participate with the customer in resolving network problems
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and status of Network Devices
- Take direction from field engineering management, lead field engineers, and project management to maintain productivity goals
- Drive to field network locations requiring onsite troubleshooting
- Comply with rules regarding use of company vehicles
- Maintain and safeguard company laptop, test equipment, access badges, keys, and other assets from damage and/or loss
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years work experience in a related wireless or networking field
- Strong background and experience with RF and wireless technologies.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science, military training, or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various electronic and RF systems.
- A strong understanding of RF and propagation theory as well as experience with RF test equipment and tools such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, sweep testers.
- Experience with RF propagation software
- Understanding of TCP/IP and routing concepts.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; the ability to directly interface with customers and vendors; maintain a professional appearance; and work independently.
- Able to travel locally to customer locations.
- Must possess a valid driving license and clean DMV.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
