Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a non-medical in-home caregiver in Clark and Floyd counties, Indiana. As an in-home caregiver, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients by providing essential care and support in the comfort of their own homes, which can often be a very rewarding experience.
Duties:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting (incontinence care sometimes required)
- Assist with walking & light exercise is sometimes necessary
- Assist with reading & mail help
- Provide medication reminders
- meal planning, prep, & cleanup
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, dishes, floor, and tidying up
- Accompany clients to appointments or outings (not needed with all clients)
- Engage in conversation and provide companionship to alleviate loneliness and promote mental stimulation
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition or behavior to the appropriate supervisor
- Follow care plans and adhere to all safety protocols
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving through employment or personal experience preferred
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others
- Good communication skills. You must be able to communicate & understand clients
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation to travel to client's homes
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance (if required for transportation)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- No certifications necessary
