Now Hiring: Child Care Assistant – Large Family Child Care Home
Hello! My name is Samantha Roark, and I own and operate a large family child care home. I am looking for a reliable, caring, and dedicated individual to join my team.
Training Schedule
During training and while you are obtaining all required employment documents, your schedule will be:
- Monday–Friday
- 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (or until the last child leaves)
This training schedule will continue through September 18, 2026. After that, you will transition to the full-time schedule listed below.
Bringing Your Child to Work
If you have a child and would like to bring them to work, they are welcome to attend for $30 per day, as they will occupy one of our licensed child care spaces. You are welcome to work additional hours, when available, to help offset this cost.
Children attending with an employee must be well-behaved and able to understand that your attention and responsibilities will be shared among all children in our care.
Position Details
- Monday–Friday
- 6:45 AM – 4:00 PM
- Additional hours available until 6:00 PM, as needed
- Starting wage: $19.00 per hour
- $0.50 raise every six months, up to a maximum of $23.00 per hour
- Christmas bonus during our annual holiday closure
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children in a safe, nurturing environment
- Help children learn and grow through structure, guidance, and age-appropriate activities
- Multitask in a fast-paced child care setting
- Perform light cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day
- Prepare simple meals and snacks

- Understands that the families we serve rely on us so they can go to work each day
- Maintains a professional appearance (please no brightly colored hair or large facial piercings)
Employment Requirements
Don't let these requirements discourage you! I will help guide you through the process of obtaining everything needed for employment.
You will be responsible for the initial costs. After 90 days of employment, I will:
- Reimburse you for all required certification and testing expenses
- Pay you an additional $100 bonus for completing all employment requirements
Required qualifications include:
- Passing a federal background check
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification
- Current Tdap vaccination
- Current TB test (or willingness to obtain one upon hire)
