Summary of Position
The Barista at Sips by Mountain Mama’s Coffee Lounge is a guest-focused, detail-oriented team member responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring a seamless experience for both resort guests and locals. This role blends high-quality craft coffee service with the hospitality standards of Georgia’s only mountain lakeside resort.
Essential Functions

Prepare and serve all espresso-based drinks, brewed coffees, teas, and specialty beverages following Mountain Mama’s Coffee recipes and quality standards.

Create consistent drinks using house-made syrups and locally roasted beans.

Maintain deep knowledge of beans, roast profiles, flavor notes, and seasonal offerings to make recommendations to guests.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all beverage and food orders.

Greet all guests with warmth, attentiveness, and a welcoming “you belong here” attitude.

Provide personalized recommendations and upsell pastries, retail items, or add-ons.

Maintain a clean, inviting, aesthetically pleasing lounge area with a lakeside-luxe feel.

Resolve guest concerns promptly or escalate to leadership as needed.

Follow all opening, closing, and side-work procedures.

Maintain cleanliness of barista stations, machines, equipment, and seating areas.

Operate POS systems accurately, handle cash, and follow proper comp/void procedures.

Restock supplies, rotate products, and track low-inventory items.

Assist with merchandising retail items, grab-and-go, and seasonal displays.

Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.

Uphold the Mountain Mama’s Coffee brand story and guest promise in every interaction.

Represent the coffee lounge as a cozy, creative, community-first space inside the resort.

Support seasonal drink launches, promotional events, and cross-resort marketing initiatives.

Responsible to comply with all managers and direct supervisor requests
