Join our dynamic team as a Trailer Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of utility trailers. In this energetic role, you'll utilize your mechanical expertise to ensure utility trailers (the ones that you pull with your vehicles) and industrial equipment operate safely and efficiently. Your hands-on skills will keep our fleet in top condition, supporting smooth operations across various industries. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trailer systems including brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electric brakes, transmissions, and electrical components using diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance such as tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and bearing greasing ( lube jobs) to prevent future issues.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move trailers in and out of the shop and for loading/unloading tasks.
- Conduct detailed inspections of trailers to identify wear or damage requiring repair or replacement.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs performed in compliance with safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience working with trailers, Industrial equipment operation, or dealership service environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, suspension components, electrical and brake systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and service software
- Experience with automotive repair including tire service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement, and electrical troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance needs
- Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repair procedures
