Medical Assistant
Suburban Urologic Associates is a Clairton, PA-based, private practice that specializes urology care in adults. We are a team of physicians, physician assistants, nurses and medical assistants who work together to provide our patients with the best possible care. Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a reliable and attentive Medical Assistant who is comfortable working with patients with different urologic diagnoses. Duties include assisting doctors with patient exams and procedures, as well as inventory management and chart preparation. This position requires an experience, independent individual who is ready to quickly learn and work with other Medical assistants, Physician Assistants and Physicians.
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, be open to feedback, and be able to work well with others. This position requires some travel from Jefferson Hospital to Monroeville (approximately 20-25% of work week).
- Duties Include:
- Rooming patients and taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
- Laboratory skills including urinalysis
- Setting up rooms appropriately for clinical procedures including sterile field technique and instrument handling
- Assisting physicians with all clinical procedures/exams
- Administer medications
- Ensure all instruments are cleaned and sterilized/disinfected
- Stocking and cleaning clinical areas appropriately
- Prepping charts
- Medical supply inventory
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Experience:
·Proven 1-3 years experience as a Medical Assistant required; Urology experienced preferred
Independent work experience in a small office/clinic
