Overview
Join our dynamic Cafe Tempo Team as a Baker!! We are looking for a dedicated hard worker who is looking for a career in baking, someone who truly loves to bake. We make our own bagels from scratch daily so you will be handling a lot of dough and will need to be able to lift large batches of dough multiple times per day, heavy lifting and moving of large racks are daily tasks of this job. Our Ideal candidate must have knowledge of ovens and previous work with bagels, or bread. This job is for early birds only as arrival time is 2:00 am daily. Shifts run 8 to 10 hours per day.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble baked goods, desserts, and pastries with precision and flair, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients for various menu items.
- Support kitchen operations during busy periods by managing high-volume production efficiently while maintaining quality.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Maintain organized workstations, monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and assist with packaging orders for delivery or pickup.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, bakery, catering or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in baking or pastry arts are preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume food preparation with speed and accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience in cake decorating or pastry arts is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and decorating tools enhances your effectiveness in this role.
