Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and passionate Cook to prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for youth in a residential group home setting. This role goes beyond traditional cooking by incorporating healthy, organic meal options and supporting a lifestyle that may include gardening and fresh food integration.
The ideal candidate enjoys cooking for groups, understands the importance of nutrition, and is comfortable creating meals that support the overall well-being of youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily meals and snacks for residents in alignment with a healthy, balanced diet
- Incorporate fresh, organic, and whole food options whenever possible
- Support or assist with gardening efforts to integrate fresh produce into meals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
- Manage food inventory, grocery lists, and meal planning
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and kitchen safety practices
- Accommodate dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions of youth
- Collaborate with program staff to support a positive and structured mealtime environment

Qualifications
- Hands-on experience cooking for groups, families, or community-based settings
- Knowledge of basic food safety and kitchen cleanliness practices
- Experience or interest in healthy cooking, organic foods, or farm-to-table approaches
- Familiarity with gardening, fresh food preparation, or sourcing local ingredients preferred
- Ability to plan meals, manage time efficiently, and work independently
- No degree or certification required — relevant experience and passion for cooking are highly valued
