Job description:
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing complex maintenance work in an industrial setting. The role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical hazards, maintaining motor control centers and high voltage systems, and installing and troubleshooting various electrical apparatus. The electrician will use a range of tools and testing equipment, follow engineering drawings, and ensure a safe working environment.
Job Requirements
- Perform maintenance tasks such as troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and apparatus.
- Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits for repair, and use personal protective equipment to guard against electrical hazards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to maintain and install electrical equipment.
Qualifications
- Preferred journeyman’s papers with 3 to 5 years’ experience (including apprenticeship) or 7 to 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance as a Maintenance Electrician.
- Experience with motor control centers, high voltage switchgear, PLC systems, and variable frequency drives.
- Proficiency in using electrical/electronic testing equipment and tools related to the electrical trade
