Overview
The Network Administrator will support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Identity Access Management (IAM) program within the Second Level Engineering (SLE) organization. The FAA uses Identity and Access Management (IAM) to reduce cyber vulnerabilities and secure communications across the National Airspace System (NAS). The framework verifies user identities, enforces access controls, and ensures that only authorized personnel and external partners can interact with critical aviation applications.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering to the IAM FAA Program.
- Utilize Ansible coding to conduct the majority of System/Network Administration tasks.
- Work within a RHEL environment, providing System Administration and networking.
- Manage PKI Infrastructure, Ansible/Python scripts, DMZs, F5s, IPs.
- Participate in meetings, code reviews, etc.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance the existing Linux environment.
Required Skills
Knowledge/Experience in:
- Strong coding skills in scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, Bash). All network administration tasks are conducted through these scripts.
- Version Control (e.g., Git via command line)
- RHEL System Administration
Possesses the ability to:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented, willing to take initiative, and self-motivated in learning, research, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal, written, and customer relations skills.
- Strong interpersonal/team working skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge/Experience in:
- F5 Networking
- Private/Public key concepts and certificate management
- Load Balancers

Education and Years of Experience Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or in another technical field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Aerospace, Chemistry, or Mathematics.
- Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.
Work Environment
- FT position with standard schedule; occasional nights or weekends may be required.
- Occasional travel (~ 10%).
Pay: $70,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
