Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance on products related to lawn care, gardening, floral design, and landscape maintenance
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure proper stocking of plants, gardening supplies, and outdoor equipment
- Identify plants and horticultural products to help customers make informed decisions
- Assist with merchandising efforts to promote seasonal items and new product arrivals
- Support outdoor work activities such as plant care, landscape maintenance, and yard organization when needed
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone or in person to answer questions about product features or store services
- Handle cashier responsibilities including cash handling, retail math calculations, and processing returns or exchanges
- Contribute to store cleanliness by organizing stock areas and maintaining an inviting shopping environment
- Support floral design projects or special displays that enhance the store’s visual appeal
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or customer service preferred; enthusiasm for outdoor work, gardening, or horticulture is a plus
- Knowledge of plant identification, landscape maintenance techniques, or floral design is advantageous
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures required
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a bonus for serving diverse customers
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions
- Organizational skills to manage stock levels and merchandising tasks efficiently
- Experience with retail math for transactions and inventory management preferred
