Job description:
We’re excited to welcome a new team member to Bishop Block Bottle Shop, The Bishop Hotel’s in house wine bar & café. As one of the first points of contact for our guests and visitors, this role is all about creating warm, memorable experiences.
You’ll be one of the first friendly faces our guests see, and your day might include welcoming hotel guests, answering phones and emails, making reservations, pulling espresso, pouring wine and cocktails, or serving guests in the café for weekend brunch and evening offerings.
This role is a great fit if you’re positive, hardworking, and thrive in an active, fast-paced environment. Previous wine knowledge is a plus, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in great service and teamwork

What you’ll be doing:
- Welcoming and taking care of guests in the café, wine bar, and garden courtyard
- Preparing espresso drinks, wine, beer, and simple cocktails
- Taking orders, running and plating food, bussing tables, and keeping the space clean
- Assisting hotel guests with check-ins and reservations
- Answering phone calls and emails in a friendly, professional manner
- Helping with opening and closing duties, side work, cleaning, and till counting
- Learning our menus and offerings so you can confidently answer questions and make recommendations
- Jumping in to support the rest of the team wherever needed
What we’re looking for:
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, café, or hotel experience (2 years preferred)
- A warm, welcoming personality and strong customer service skills
- Someone who is reliable, proactive, and takes pride in their work
- Ability to multitask and stay organized when things get busy
- Good communication and time management skills
- A team-oriented attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Day and evening availability, including weekends and holidays
- Primarily seeking Tuesday PM, Wednesday PM + Saturday AM + flexible shift coverage
Wine knowledge is a plus, but not required. We’re much more interested in finding someone who is friendly, hardworking, dependable, and genuinely enjoys hospitality.
