Job Summary
The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine shop equipment

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications

Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials

Machine parts to precise tolerances (±.0005” or as specified)

Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments

Make machine offsets and program adjustments as needed

Deburr and finish machined components to required specifications

Maintain clean and organized work areas

Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues

Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
-
2+ years of machining experience (manual, CNC, or combination)

Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills

Experience holding tight tolerances

Working knowledge of machining metals such as tool steel, aluminum, and stainless steel

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills

CNC programming experience (G-code, conversational programming, or CAM software)

Experience with multi-axis machining

Familiarity with tool and die components

Experience in a high-precision or production manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods
