Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established recipes and dietary guidelines
- Assist with menu planning to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production machinery
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques during preparation and service
- Support dietary department needs by assisting with meal assembly and portioning for high-volume production
- Ensure all food is presented attractively and served promptly to maximize customer satisfaction
Experience
- Previous dietary aide or culinary experience in a food service setting preferred
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and other cooking methods
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a professional kitchen environment
- Background in food handling within the food industry or restaurant settings is highly desirable
