Una Care Products is a cGMP-certified cosmetic and personal care contract manufacturer in Strongsville, OH. We produce skin creams, serums, shampoos, conditioners, hair powders, and lip balms for a growing roster of clients who trust us with their formulations from lab to shelf.
We are looking for a Production Supervisor who has actually run a manufacturing floor, not just managed a team in an adjacent industry. You will lead daily production operations, own our standard operating procedures, track KPIs, and serve as the direct connection between the floor and ownership. This is a hands-on role. You will be in it, not above it.
Strong performers grow into a Production Manager title.
What You Will Do
Floor Leadership and People Management
- Lead a small production team on first shift, currently two to three people with growth planned
- Assign daily tasks, manage schedules, and make sure the floor runs on time and on target
- Train new hires on equipment, safety procedures, and production standards
- Conduct performance check-ins and formal quarterly reviews
- Address performance issues directly and follow proper disciplinary procedure when needed
Operations and Compliance
- Oversee all production operations including mixing, filling, labeling, and packaging
- Ensure every batch is produced in compliance with cGMP standards and internal quality requirements
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting when equipment underperforms or goes down
- Coordinate with the lab team on new product runs and process handoffs
- Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and inventory logs
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and lead regular safety awareness on the floor
Reporting and Documentation
- Build and maintain standard operating procedures for all production processes
- Establish and track KPIs including output, downtime, quality incidents, and labor utilization
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports for ownership review
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning
What You Bring
- 3 or more years of direct production supervision experience on a manufacturing floor
- Background in chemical, cosmetic, food, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated manufacturing. Fulfillment, printing, retail, and warehouse operations do not meet this requirement
- Proven hands-on mechanical aptitude. You can diagnose equipment issues and perform minor repairs yourself, not just report problems to maintenance
- Direct experience writing SOPs and establishing KPIs from scratch
- Comfort with performance management including verbal coaching, written documentation, and disciplinary follow-through
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods on a production floor
- cGMP or regulated manufacturing experience is a strong plus
The Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 9-hour shifts. Friday, 4 hours ending at noon. Standard week is 40 to 45 hours. Occasional overtime for specific client deadlines, not a regular expectation.
Compensation
$50,000 to $55,000 annually depending on experience and industry background. Health insurance is not currently offered as a group plan. The ownership team is actively exploring individual coverage options and will share updates as they become available.
