Minimum associate’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or business with an emphasis in accounting.
3+ years of accounting experience in a medium-sized manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office business software required.
ERP software experience preferred.
The Accounting Associate provides financial and administrative support to the accounting team and CFO. This position is responsible for data entry within the Infor LN ERP system, customer and vendor accounting activities, bookkeeping, financial reporting support, and a variety of accounting-related tasks.
Answer the finance phone line and respond to accounting inquiries.
Monitor the shared accounting mailbox and ensure timely responses.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Monitor weekly aged receivables reports and follow up on past-due accounts to support healthy cash flow.
Resolve customer questions and complaints regarding invoices and payments.
Process billing adjustments and customer refunds.
Prepare and distribute customer statements and review customer feedback.
Process customer invoicing.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and process invoices for payment.
Monitor weekly aged payables reports and help prevent past-due accounts.
Review payment schedules and ensure payments are processed timely.
Resolve vendor questions and concerns regarding payments.
Assist with billing adjustments and refunds.
Review vendor statements and address discrepancies.
Process vendor payments through checks, online vendor accounts, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards.
Review sales representatives’ monthly commission payments and process payments.
Enter financial information into appropriate accounting software and the ERP system.
Monitor and record daily checking account activity and reconcile account balances.
Verify bank deposits and maintain accurate records.
Assist with preparing monthly financial information and supporting documentation for the external accounting firm.
Assist with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting by preparing supporting documentation and correcting errors in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Assist with gathering and preparing supporting documentation for multistate sales and use tax reporting.
