Description
Systems Engineers (pre-sales engineers) are software experts who work alongside Area Sales Managers to structure and conduct evaluations of OpenFLEX 's products by its potential customers. Systems Engineers perform a wide range of duties; from delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to managing the evaluation process, conducting detailed requirements analyses, understanding the competitive marketplace, performing technical account management, and coding/delivering proof-of-concept and prototype projects. The most desirable applicants will have strong experience with Object Oriented software, a good foundation in software implementation, and experience in working with customers. Currently successful Systems Engineers at OpenFLEX have come from positions as software engineers, post-sales consultants, product managers, technical support engineers, technical trainers, and (of course) pre-sales engineers.
OpenFLEX considers Systems Engineers to be critical to our company's success. Systems Engineers will own 50% of the decisions and responsibilities in the sales process. OpenFLEX SE's will be expected to take great initiative to understand customers' problems and deliver viable solutions. Required Skills
- B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- 3 years software development experience preferred
- Experience in OO Design and Programming strongly preferred
- Previous pre-sales or customer oriented experience a plus
- Experience with middleware, Object-oriented programming and design, and component-based development and deployment models, and distributed programming a plus
- Experience with ERP suites or other enterprise applications a plus
- Experience with RDBMS's a plus
