About the Role
We are a growing, multi-location restaurant group with a passion for genuine, from-scratch
Italian cuisine. We are seeking a hands-on Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team at
one of our locations as we continue to build and grow.
This is not just a cooking role, it is a leadership role. The right candidate will take full ownership
of the kitchen: from the quality of every dish that leaves the kitchen, to the development of every
team member on the line. We are looking for someone who is energized by the challenge of
building something great and who holds themselves and their team to a high, consistent
standard.
What You’ll Do
Culinary Execution & Quality
- Maintain consistency and quality across all menu items, ensuring every dish reflects our
from-scratch standards
- Oversee all kitchen operations including prep, line execution, and expediting during
service
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed at all times
- Actively work the line alongside the team
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and motivate a kitchen team with patience, consistency, and accountability
- Set clear expectations and hold all team members to the same standards
- Create a positive kitchen culture where staff feel supported, challenged, and proud of
their work
- Conduct regular check-ins, provide real-time feedback, and invest in the growth of your
team
Operations & Financial Management
- Manage food cost, waste, and inventory with a disciplined, data-informed approach
- Oversee ordering, vendor relationships, and receiving to maintain quality and control
costs
- Maintain and enforce kitchen schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing for volume
- Partner with the Executive Chef and management on menu development, specials, and
seasonal updates
Guest Experience & Community
- Serve as the senior leader on duty when the FOH manager is not in house — owning the
full guest experience, not just what comes out of the kitchen
- Touch tables, check in with guests, and take genuine interest in their experience
- Be a visible, welcoming presence in the dining room — someone guests recognize and
look forward to seeing
- Build relationships with our regulars and become a recognizable face in the local
community
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism, ownership, and a solutions-first mindset
Communication & Partnership
- Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure seamless, consistent service
- Report to the General Manager and operations leadership, with open communication to
ownership.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to the overall growth of the location
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a lead chef or kitchen manager in a full-service restaurant
environment
- Demonstrated experience managing food cost, labor, and kitchen operations
- Proven ability to lead and develop a kitchen team
- A deep respect for scratch cooking and a commitment to quality ingredients and
techniques
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to hold themselves accountable without constant
oversight
- Experience with Italian cuisine a strong plus, but a willingness to learn and embrace the
concept is equally valued
- ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
Who You Are
You show up every day ready to lead. You don’t point fingers — you solve problems. You
believe in developing people, not just managing them. You care about the guest experience as
much as you care about the food. You understand that consistency is a form of excellence, and
you bring that energy to your team every shift.
You’re also comfortable stepping out of the kitchen. You enjoy talking to guests, you remember
regulars’ names, and you understand that a great meal is only part of what brings people back.
You see community relationships as part of your job — not an afterthought.
You’re the kind of chef who makes the kitchen better just by being in it — and the dining room,
too.
