The Groundskeeper / Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining the property grounds, common areas, buildings, and equipment in a clean, safe, attractive, and well-maintained condition. This position assists the Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance team with routine repairs, preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, unit turnovers, and general property upkeep.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, hardworking, able to work independently, and willing to assist wherever needed to maintain a high standard of appearance and service for residents.

Maintain lawns, landscaping, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other exterior areas.

Keep sidewalks, parking areas, entrances, and common exterior areas clean and free of hazards.

Pick up litter and dispose of trash and debris appropriately.

Assist with planting, mulching, pruning, and other landscaping activities.

Maintain and properly store landscaping equipment and tools.

Assist maintenance staff with routine repairs and preventative maintenance.

Perform minor repairs such as patching, painting, caulking, replacing hardware, and other basic maintenance tasks.

Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and appliance-related maintenance as directed and within the employee's level of training.

Assist with preparing vacant units for occupancy, including cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and general turnover work.

Assist with moving materials, furniture, appliances, and maintenance supplies when needed.

Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, property damage, or equipment issues promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.

Assist with emergency maintenance situations when requested.

Keep hallways, laundry rooms, community rooms, offices, storage areas, and other common areas clean and orderly.

Inspect common areas and grounds regularly for maintenance and safety concerns.

Assist with maintaining exterior lighting, signage, doors, gates, fencing, and other property features.
