Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish presentation
- Handle food with care, following proper food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients efficiently
- Maintain organized workstations, ensuring all kitchen tools and ingredients are properly stored and readily accessible
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction during meal service
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong culinary skills with proficiency in food handling, cooking techniques, and meal preparation
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and dicing of ingredients
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Experience with menu planning, food industry standards, and catering operations is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail in food presentation and portion control
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support serving staff
