Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with individuals with disabilities, including developmental disabilities and autism, to help them develop essential life skills that promote independence and enhance their quality of life. Your expertise in behavior management and caregiving will be instrumental in creating a supportive environment that fosters personal growth and achievement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized training programs tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Assist clients in acquiring daily living skills such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Provide support in community integration activities, helping clients navigate social situations and build relationships.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and address challenges effectively.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any significant changes or concerns.
- Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly those with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Strong background in caregiving or home community care settings.
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid driver's license is required for transportation responsibilities.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
