Position Overview
We are currently seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team in Port Orange, FL. This is a great opportunity for a skilled imaging professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and accurate diagnostic imaging. You will perform a variety of MRI procedures using 1.5T and 3T equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient service.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures

Clearly explain procedures and address patient concerns

Verify imaging orders, diagnosis codes, and authorizations

Ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols

Operate 1.5T and 3T MRI systems following established protocols

Administer contrast materials (oral or IV) as required

Perform image quality checks and documentation

Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic system

Conduct weekly ACR quality assurance tasks

Report equipment malfunctions as needed

Assist in training new staff and mentoring student technologists

Provide physical and emotional support to patients
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
-
Graduate of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program
-
Minimum 2 years of imaging experience, with at least 1 year in MRI preferred

Experience with both 1.5T and 3T MRI systems is a plus
Licensure & Certifications:
-
Florida-licensed Radiologic Technologist
-
ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)) or Nuclear Medicine (RT(N))

ARRT (MR) certification preferred or must be obtained within 12 months of hire

BLS certification required
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of MRI protocols and cross-sectional anatomy

Familiarity with PACS and digital imaging systems

Skilled in IV placement and contrast administration

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting

Calm under pressure and capable of handling emergencies
