Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including general ledger accounting, inventory accounting, accounts receivable, cash management, and financial reporting. This is a full-time, on-site position that works closely with Accounting, Manufacturing, Operations, and Purchasing to ensure transactions are accurately recorded, inventory costs are properly allocated, and financial information is complete and reliable.
Responsibilities
· Record daily accounting transactions and prepare journal entries.
· Allocate expenses to the appropriate inventory, cost of goods sold, and general ledger accounts.
· Review inventory receipts and supporting documentation to ensure accurate inventory costing.
· Prepare and distribute customer invoices, apply customer payments, maintain customer accounts, generate statements, monitor aging reports, and assist with collections and credit applications.
· Record daily bank transactions and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
· Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, inventory, accounts receivable, and other general ledger accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies.
· Prepare accruals, prepaid expense entries, and other month-end journal entries.
· Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, audit support, and ad hoc reporting for management.
· Assist with implementing process improvements and strengthening internal controls.
· Cross-train in accounts payable and provide support for other accounting functions as needed.
· Support special projects and perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
· 2+ years of accounting experience.
· Experience with inventory accounting and accounts receivable preferred.
· Intercompany accounting experience is a plus but not required.
· Experience with ERP or accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise preferred).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
