About the Role
You will operate a company‑provided vehicles to: (1) deliver online orders to customers within a 20‑mile service radius, and (2) perform daily internal inventory transfers between stores following a route plan set by Operations. This role is customer‑facing and operations‑critical — accuracy, on‑time performance, and safe driving are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete same‑day / next‑day deliveries and store‑to‑store transfers per daily dispatch plan.
- Scan/confirm all jobs in the company app (pickup → out‑for‑delivery → delivered/returned).
- Provide valid proof‑of‑delivery (POD) per SOP (photo/OTP/signature as required) and follow customer notes.
- Communicate professionally with customers when access issues occur (gate codes, apartment access, reschedule).
- Perform vehicle safety checks (pre‑trip / post‑trip checklist) and keep the van clean and secure.
- Handle parcels carefully; packages range from small cartons (~0.5 kg) to large cartons (up to 30 kg / 70 lbs).
- Support reverse logistics (returns) and exception handling (no access, customer unavailable) per SOP.
- Maintain compliance with traffic laws, safety rules, and company uniform standards.
Performance Standards (KPI‑based)
- Bonus eligibility and performance reviews are based on bi‑weekly KPIs. Core KPIs include:
- On‑time delivery % (OTD — total) for the 2:00 PM cut‑off service window.
- POD scan compliance (picked/out‑for‑delivery/delivered) and Valid POD rate.
- Damage rate, customer complaint rate, and mis‑delivery rate.
- Safety compliance (no severe safety events) and vehicle inspection completion %.
- Delivery volume target: minimum 50 successful deliveries per workday. If company‑provided order volume is below 50/day, eligible drivers will still receive the minimum bonus equivalent to 50 deliveries, subject to attendance and KPI quality/safety gates.
Compensation (Base + Per‑Delivery Bonus)
Base Pay: $19.00/hour (non‑exempt; overtime paid per California law).

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid California Driver’s License; clean driving record (DMV check required).
- Comfortable driving a cargo van in dense urban traffic and parking in residential/commercial areas.
- Able to lift, carry, and move packages up to 66 lbs (30 kg) with safe handling practices.
- Reliable smartphone (iOS/Android) and ability to use delivery apps for scanning and status updates.
- Strong punctuality, attention to detail, and professional communication with customers and store teams.
- Must be able to work weekends per rotating schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior last‑mile delivery experience (e.g., Amazon DSP, USPS, UPS/FedEx contractor, OnTrac, courier).
- Experience delivering to apartments/condos with access restrictions and proof‑of‑delivery requirements.

This is a non‑exempt position. Meal/rest breaks and overtime will be administered in compliance with California law. Employment is at‑will. Offer is contingent on background screening and driving record verification (as applicable).
