Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and HVAC systems to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy-duty machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and Caterpillar equipment.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems efficiently.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting devices safely to execute repairs and assembly tasks.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs for compliance and quality assurance.
- Perform tire services, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, and other suspension repairs to ensure vehicle safety standards.
- Assist with fabrication tasks when necessary and support equipment maintenance routines to maximize operational uptime.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an auto mechanic or heavy equipment technician with dealership or industrial background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, heavy truck repair, diesel engine repair, and farm machinery maintenance.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical systems and mechanical components.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and other maintenance tools.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems, air brakes, power steering systems, HVAC units, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions.
