Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchaser / Procurement Specialist to join our
residential exteriors team. This role is responsible for sourcing, ordering, tracking, and coordinating
materials for residential exterior projects including siding, masonry, stucco, trim, and related
construction products. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, construction material
knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects and vendors while maintaining accuracy,
timelines, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase and coordinate materials for residential exterior construction projects including siding and
trim products, stucco and masonry materials, soffit, fascia, and exterior accessories, flashing,
fasteners, and specialty materials.
- Review project plans, scopes, takeoffs, and schedules to ensure accurate material ordering.
- Coordinate deliveries with vendors, suppliers, project managers, and field crews to maintain project
schedules.
- Verify quantities, pricing, lead times, and product specifications before placing orders.
- Track purchase orders, deliveries, backorders, and material shortages to minimize delays.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
when applicable.
- Work closely with estimating and operations teams to ensure material consistency with project
budgets and specifications.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving procurement efficiency.
- Maintain organized purchasing records, vendor information, invoices, and material tracking
systems.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and
company quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, construction materials management, or a related
role.
- Knowledge of residential construction materials and exterior building systems is preferred. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
simultaneously.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, material takeoffs, and specifications.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience purchasing siding, stucco, masonry, or exterior construction materials.
- Familiarity with residential custom home construction.
- Experience working with suppliers, construction suppliers, or specialty building product vendors.
- Knowledge of inventory management and material logistics.
