Overview:The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout guest rooms and public areas. This role ensures that guests have a comfortable, clean, and welcoming environment, contributing significantly to a positive guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Guest Room Cleaning
- Clean, dust, and sanitize all surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and windows.
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and amenities.
- Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and clean bathrooms thoroughly.
- Public Area Cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness in hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevators, and other public areas.
- Restock public restrooms and ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
- Inventory and Supply Management
- Replenish guest room supplies, including toiletries, coffee, and towels.
- Report low stock levels and damaged or missing items to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Properly store housekeeping carts, supplies, and equipment at the end of each shift.
- Quality Assurance
- Conduct final checks in each room to ensure standards are met before leaving.
- Report maintenance issues, broken items, or safety hazards to maintenance or management promptly.
- Guest Interaction
- Greet guests warmly when encountered in hallways or other common areas.
- Respect guests’ privacy, and follow hotel procedures for Do Not Disturb (DND) signs.
- Respond to guest requests or inquiries in a friendly, helpful manner.
6. Flexibility
- Complete any other tasks assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and push housekeeping carts for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull items up to 30 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, and crouch to clean all areas effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping experience is helpful but not required.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to cleanliness, quality, and safety.
- Personality: Friendly, professional, and respectful, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
