Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Electrical Journeyman/Foreman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on commercial construction sites and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications. Duties
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial buildings, including lighting, power distribution, low voltage systems, and control panels.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues and ensure proper system operation.
- Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all installations meet safety and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical activities during various phases of projects such as renovation or new build.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
- Read construction plans and schematics accurately while utilizing blueprint reading skills for precise installations.
- Use hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools such as drills and saws for efficient work execution.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems using testing devices like ohmmeters to ensure functionality before project completion.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong background in industrial electrician tasks preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams confidently.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites involving renovation or new building projects.
- Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems required; familiarity with high voltage safety procedures is a plus.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or automation systems is highly desirable.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment such as ohmmeters, and troubleshooting electrical issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for commercial installations.
