POSITION: Mental Health Clinical Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Administrator
SUPERVISES: Clinical Staff
RESPONSIBILITIES
A. May provide up to 100 hours per month of direct behavioral health counseling and/ or case management services to individuals; consisting of individual, group, family, and educational services; including assessment, counseling and aftercare services.
B. Provides supervision of Mental Health Clinicians, clinical staff, students and volunteers in accordance with Chapter 246-341 and 246-811 WAC, who are providing mental health services.
C. Reviews and documents reviews of a sample of individual records from each clinical staff under direct supervision of the supervisor at a minimum of semi-annually.
D. Ensures implementation of assessments, individualized service planning, treatment, continuing care, transfer and discharge plans in accord with Chapter 246-341 WAC.
E. Ensures continued competency regarding assessment, individualized service planning, treatment, continuing care, transfer and discharge plans in accord with Chapter 246-341 WAC
F. Conducts staff meetings for all clinical personnel to discuss matters pertaining to treatment issues, policies and procedures, case management, and staff relations.
G. Assists the Administrator in updating of the agency clinical manual.
H. Coordinates assignments concerning intake assessment, individual counseling, group sessions, and educational programs.
I. Monitors the case managers’ implementation of a problem-oriented records system by periodically spot-checking case files from each case manager.
J. Advises the Administrator on the specific training needs of clinical staff members and recommends an appropriate course of action.
K. Organizes curriculum program and content, and monitors all COD treatment program sessions provided by the agency.
L. Manages and completes all required reports for Mental Health department.
REQUIREMENTS
A. Has documented competency in the clinical supervision.
B. Master’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW); and is qualified as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP).
C. Not have a history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of two years before employment and not display evidence of misuse of alcohol or other drug use while employed.
D. Understands and adheres to state and federal confidentiality regulations.
E. Conducts self ethically and professionally at all times.
F. The ability to coordinate and supervise counseling and support personnel; to deal effectively with courts, probation department, and other agencies and professionals; and to develop and supervise successful treatment programs for various types of individuals are essential. Managerial and organizational skills are required.
G. Applicants are expected to subscribe to the philosophy of total abstinence for recovering persons.
H. This person must be of the conviction that Substance Use Disorders are treatable and constitute a public health problem.
I. Understands and ascribes to the philosophy of Co-Occurring Disorders, individuals who have been diagnosed with a primary mental health disorder and a primary substance use disorder, and need integrated and concurrent treatment to promote holistic recovery and wellness.
J. This person must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all participant – related information.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
