Duties
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading waste containers onto various types of trucks, including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move waste bins, bags, or other materials as directed.
- Support the driver in operating trucks with manual transmissions and ensure proper vehicle handling during collection routes
- Load and unload waste materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks and work area throughout the shift to promote safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow all safety procedures during manual handling, driving assistance, and equipment operation to prevent accidents or injuries.
Skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining proper body mechanics.
- Knowledge of load & unload procedures for different waste containers and materials.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to commercial driving and waste collection operations.
