SALT Waterfront Bar & Grill is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-driven Floor Manager / Assistant Manager to join our leadership team for the season. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant while maintaining exceptional service standards and leading by example.

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily front-of-house operations during service.
- Coach, mentor, and develop servers, bartenders, hosts, food runners, and support staff.
- Maintain exceptional standards of guest service and hospitality.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail throughout the restaurant.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities.
- Monitor labor, staffing levels, and floor flow to maximize efficiency.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure seamless communication.
- Enforce company standards, policies, and health department regulations.
- Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance coaching.
- Support private events and large parties.
- Jump in wherever needed—this is a hands-on leadership position.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience.
- High-volume, full-service restaurant experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Passion for hospitality and developing people.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with Toast POS is a plus.
- Wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of daily restaurant operations during opening and closing shifts, including staff management, customer service, and food quality control.
- Supervise food preparation, cooking processes, and food handling to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
- Oversee POS systems such as TOAST for accurate order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Train staff members on food safety procedures, customer service protocols, and operational standards to foster a high-performance team environment.
- Conduct shift management duties including supervising team members, and providing ongoing coaching.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Perform profit and loss analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.
- Support catering events or banquet services as needed while maintaining excellent hospitality standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members to promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven management experience in quick service or fast food restaurants with a focus on food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations.
- Extensive background in food service management including supervising teams, training staff, and managing hospitality teams in casual dining or fine dining settings.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as TOAST for sales processing and cash handling.
- Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, food safety management, and profit/loss analysis.
- Experience in managing hospitality teams within hotel or catering environments is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff through effective training & development initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills suitable for managerial roles involving interviewing candidates and team supervision.
- Knowledge of food industry standards including culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen management practices.
