Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering product demos, and guiding shoppers through their selections.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
- Upsell products and suggest add-on items to enhance the customer’s purchase experience.
- Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
- Assist in inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory counts to support store operations.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers positively and professionally.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
