We are seeking a passionate, dependable, and energetic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team at The Goddard School! The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and safe classroom environment while supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children ages 12–24 months.
As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, maintaining daily classroom routines, building strong relationships with families, and ensuring compliance with all licensing and Goddard standards. Candidates should be patient, organized, professional, and enthusiastic about early childhood education.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating a positive and nurturing learning environment
- Implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
- Supervising children to ensure safety and well-being at all times
- Communicating effectively with parents and team members
- Maintaining classroom cleanliness and organization
- Following all state licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Supporting potty training, meal times, and daily care routines as needed
- Working collaboratively with administration and fellow teachers
Requirements:
Level 2 Background Check
45 hours from DCF (Deal-Breaker)

- Guided Reading Programs
- Daily Special Enrichment Instruction (Yoga, Spanish, Sign Language, Music, Chess)
Responsibilities
- Design and follow a complete teaching plan based on the Goddard Philosophy
- Prove to be reliable, dependable, and on time.
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide HONEST and appropriate information.
- Maintain an open line of communication with the Directors and Owner.
- Assess students' performance and progress to ensure they regularly master the skills.
- Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations.
Skills
- Must be able to assist with potty training.
- Excellent knowledge of child development and the latest education practices
- Teaching and organization skills
- Patience and flexibility
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and best practices within Goddard Standards
- Experience working with toddlers in a preschool or childcare setting preferred
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Must meet all state licensing requirements
