Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Van Monitor/Alternate driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their van transportation. Responsibilities:
- Supervise students while they are on the bus, ensuring their safety and maintaining order
- Assist students with getting on and off the van, ensuring they follow proper procedures
- Monitor student behavior and address any issues or conflicts that may arise
- Provide first aid or assistance in case of emergencies or accidents
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents related to student behavior or safety
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behavior incidents
Skills:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies
- Understanding of special education needs and ability to accommodate students with diverse requirements
- Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, teachers, and school staff
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Classroom experience is a plus
