Fleet Service Manager — L&L Wood Hauling
Location: Lake City / Live Oak, North Florida (on-site, in person)
Pay: $90,000–$125,000 per year + potential performance-based bonus

This is a hands-on, on-site role in rural North Florida. We are prioritizing candidates who already live in the North Florida region — or who are genuinely able and committed to relocating to the Lake City / Live Oak area. A long-distance commute is not workable for this position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
L&L Wood Hauling is seeking an experienced Fleet Service Manager to lead maintenance operations for a fleet of approximately 40–50 Mack and Volvo trucks and 60 wood chip and log trailers running throughout North Florida.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands heavy-truck fleet operations — preventative maintenance discipline, breakdown response, technician management, trailer maintenance, and maximizing truck uptime. The right person is a strong operational leader, respected by mechanics and drivers alike, who brings structure, accountability, urgency, and professionalism to the shop.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all daily maintenance operations for fleet trucks and trailers
- Manage preventative maintenance scheduling and compliance
- Coordinate repairs, diagnostics, and breakdown response
- Supervise shop technicians and outside vendors
- Improve truck uptime and fleet availability
- Oversee maintenance of wood chip and log trailers
- Manage parts inventory and vendor relationships
- Track and prioritize work orders and repair schedules
- Build accountability and discipline within the shop
- Work directly with ownership and operations on fleet performance and priorities
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience (15+ strongly preferred)
- Prior experience managing or supervising a truck shop or fleet maintenance operation
- Knowledge of Mack and Volvo trucks preferred
- Experience with technician management, workflow, and preventative-maintenance systems
- Ability to diagnose and prioritize mechanical issues effectively
- Strong organizational and leadership skills; able to hold people accountable while keeping a positive shop
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred — daily interaction with English- and Spanish-speaking mechanics, drivers, and vendors
- CDL preferred but not required
