Demand Planning (Primary Focus)
- Own and continuously improve the end-to-end demand planning process across products, channels, and customers.
- Develop accurate, unbiased demand forecasts using statistical methods, historical performance, commercial inputs, and market intelligence.
- Partner with the Product Team to build balanced assortments across product categories, ensuring the right mix of price points, seasonal offerings, and premium products.
- Forecast demand and manage open-to-buy budgets to maximize profitability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Partner with the Product Team to influence product assortment, color selection, and sizing strategies based on customer and market insights.
- Collaborate with Planning and Allocation teams to optimize inventory flow and product availability.
S&OP Process Development & Leadership
- Help develop, implement, and facilitate a practical S&OP process appropriate for the company’s current stage of maturity.
- Lead Demand Review Meetings and support broader S&OP alignment discussions with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Leadership.
- Create clear visibility into demand/supply risks, opportunities, and recommend actions for leadership decision-making.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships to ensure successful go-to-market processes, product launches and business execution.
Financial Analysis & Partnership
- Partner closely with Finance to convert volume forecasts into revenue projections and support integrated financial planning.
- Support margin and profitability analysis by providing clear demand insights that inform pricing, promotional, and inventory decisions.
- Develop scenario-based analysis that informs the impact of commercial initiatives.
- Bridge operational plans with financial outcomes to inform and improve decision making ability.
Contribute to the evolution of more robust financial planning capabilities as the business scales towards dedicated FP&A resources over time.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and merchandise planning or ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for outdoor recreation and an understanding of the outdoor consumer is highly desirable.
- Experience with technical outdoor apparel or performance product categories.
- Knowledge of sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with assortment planning and retail forecasting tools.
Experience working in omnichannel retail environments, including wholesale, e-commerce, and brick-and-mortar.
- The Senior Demand Planner/Analyst is a foundational role responsible for owning the company’s demand planning process and establishing a practical Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cadence. This position will serve as the critical link between commercial projections, operations, and financial planning.
- The Senior Demand Planner/Analyst is responsible for partnering with the Product Team to develop and execute merchandising strategies that drive sales, profitability, and brand growth.
- The ideal candidate will bring strong financial analysis capabilities and the ability to partner closely with Finance on revenue and margin forecasting. This role will be responsible for creating deeper financial-operational integration and bringing S&OP maturity to the business as we continue to grow.
The successful candidate combines deep demand planning expertise with analytical rigor, cross-functional influence, and the ability to build process in an environment where formal S&OP and FP&A structures are still being established.
