We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Low Voltage Electrician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage electrical wiring, including structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6), fire alarm systems and telecommunications wiring in commercial or industrial settings.
- Set up and configure networking equipment such as Cisco routers, switches, VoIP systems, and Ethernet connections to support communication networks.
- Use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, multimeters, and telecommunication testing equipment to identify faults and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Conduct cable termination, network wiring, and structured cabling installation adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures related to low-voltage electrical systems, including telephony, CCTV cameras, and telecommunication systems.
- Perform routine inspections of communication infrastructure using hand tools and power tools while ensuring safety compliance.
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by diagnosing issues accurately and offering effective solutions promptly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, test results, and repair activities for record-keeping and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Electrician or similar role with a strong understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring standards.
- Knowledge of telecommunications systems including VoIP, LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), and computer networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with network cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation for system installation and troubleshooting purposes.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and telecommunication testing equipment accurately.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and structured cabling installation practices compliant with NEC standards.
- Experience programming various systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients at all levels.
- OSHA-10 minimum certification required
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
