Job Description (General): 60” Slitter Helper
60” Slitter helper is responsible for the loading and unloading of material that is scheduled to run and or has ran. Assisting operator with daily functions in and around the slitting line. Watching material run and is responsible for the quality during the run. Responsible for building over and under arms with the ability to keep your work area clear of trip hazard and maintaining a clean work area. Responsible for hooking scrap up in scrap winders. Also, unloading once they are full or changing from one alloy to another.
Responsibilities:
60” Helper working under the direction of the slitter operator for performing complete set up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a good work ethic
- Must wear proper PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, long Kevlar sleeves, gloves)
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, stoop, stretch

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is to remain in a stationary position for 60 percent of the time. The individual needs to occasionally move about on the shop floor to transport parts, access tools, equipment, and other necessary items to complete the work order. They use their hands continuously while performing all job duties. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other individuals in the office and shop. Must be able to detect mechanical issues and part defects from short distances to determine what action needs to be taken. They must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 60 pounds. The individual must be capable of carrying and loading different parts and tools required to do the job.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
It is always mandatory on the plant floor to wear Personal Protective Equipment due to exposure of machinery. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.
