Work duties include performing substance use assessments, facilitating group counseling, Moral Recognition Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse and individual counseling in an outpatient setting. Training in Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBISA) and Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) is preferred although training can be provided in these areas. Experience and knowledge are preferred in the12 Core Functions of SA Counseling; Individual and group counseling skills; knowledge of potential referral sources and understanding of co-occurring disorders. Must have computer skills and the ability to write clearly with attention to detail and be able to plan, prioritize and organize work. Must have the ability to relate to others with compassion, respect and empathy to include staff, clients and referral sources. Certified or Licensed as Addiction Counselor. Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient care is preferred- with required coursework completed. APPLICANT MUST HAVE A LAC, CAC IN THE STATE OF SD TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
