The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly creative, hands-on leader to oversee the visual direction of both Zodax and One Hundred 80 Degrees. This role combines interior design, wholesale showroom merchandising, photography styling, and product development. The Director will work closely with Edward Cohanim, Founder, to create inspiring environments and presentations that strengthen our brands and help drive sales.
Wholesale B2B experience is especially important. Permanent wholesale showrooms require a different approach from traditional retail stores, including collection storytelling, buyer navigation, product density, flexibility, and sales effectiveness.
Primary ResponsibilitiesShowroom Design & Visual Merchandising
- Lead the design, layout, merchandising, and ongoing presentation of our showrooms in Atlanta, High Point, Dallas, and Las Vegas.
- Develop floor plans, traffic flow, product placement, room settings, and visual stories for each showroom.
- Plan and direct market setups, seasonal resets, and new collection introductions.
- Ensure all locations are visually consistent, elevated, practical, and sales-focused.
Interior Design & Fixtures
- Design or direct custom fixtures, shelving, cabinetry, display systems, walls, platforms, lighting, and presentation elements.
- Select finishes, paint, flooring, lighting, furnishings, rugs, artwork, and accessories.
- Work with architects, contractors, fabricators, installers, and vendors from concept through installation.
Photography, Catalog & Social Media Styling
- Lead styling for product and lifestyle photography, catalogs, websites, advertising, social media, and video content.
- Create shot concepts, room settings, prop plans, and product stories for each collection.
- Partner closely with photographers, marketing teams, catalog designers, and outside creative resources.
Product Development & Collection Building
- Assist the Founder and product development teams in building cohesive home decor, tabletop, fragrance, seasonal, and lifestyle collections.
- Provide direction on color, materials, finishes, scale, styling, and collection storytelling.
- Review samples and recommend adjustments that improve the overall presentation and commercial appeal.
Planning & Team Leadership
- Create installation plans, calendars, staffing plans, photography schedules, and project budgets.
- Hire, schedule, and direct freelance stylists, installers, movers, carpenters, painters, electricians, and temporary crews as needed.
- Coordinate fixtures, props, samples, freight, tools, and supplies while keeping projects on time and on budget.
- Remain hands-on during styling, merchandising, showroom setup, and problem-solving.
What We Are Looking For
- 8-10+ years of experience in interior design, visual merchandising, showroom design, creative direction, or a related field.
- Experience in home decor, furniture, tabletop, lighting, gift, fashion, hospitality, or luxury lifestyle industries.
- Strong wholesale B2B showroom experience preferred; retail visual merchandising experience alone may not be sufficient.
- Exceptional eye for color, proportion, scale, composition, lighting, and spatial relationships.
- Proven ability to manage multiple locations, installations, vendors, crews, budgets, and deadlines.
- Portfolio demonstrating showroom design, interior styling, visual merchandising, photography styling, and creative direction.
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Visual Merchandising, or a related discipline preferred.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar design tools preferred.
