Teacher Assistant: Vision

As a Teacher Assistant supporting vision services with Special School District (SSD), you will help students with visual impairments access learning and build the skills needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Working alongside teachers of students with visual impairments and other members of the educational team, you will support individualized instruction, reinforce classroom and behavioral strategies, and help create an inclusive learning environment where students can grow in confidence and independence. Through your daily support, you will assist with adapting instructional materials, implementing learning activities, collecting student data, and providing hands-on assistance as needed. Your dedication and collaboration will help ensure students with vision needs have meaningful access to their education and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Education and Experience

Thirty-six (36) hours of college credit required, or completion of the Frontline Substitute Teacher Training as approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience working with children preferred
Salary

$22.00 to $38.00/hr. based on education and experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Substitute Certification issued by DESE, required
