Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using Aloha POS, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, food safety, and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities.
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and provide personalized guest relations.
- Clear tables, bus tables as needed, and assist with food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean dining environment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and fellow servers to coordinate timely delivery of orders in a fine dining or nightclub setting.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities, while adhering to POS protocols.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, wine list, and restaurant policies to answer guest questions confidently.
- Support host/hostess duties when necessary by managing reservations through OpenTable or similar systems.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that creates welcoming guest interactions.
- Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures required for safe service.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy; experience with cashiering is beneficial.
- Culinary or kitchen experience can enhance understanding of food preparation processes.
