Job Title Residential Peer Specialist
SUMMARY
The Covenant Community Residential Peer Specialist is primarily responsible for program supervision during the evening, nighttime and weekend hours, ensuring compliance with the program’s policies and procedures and the safety of all residents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and supervise house activities in the evenings, at night and on weekends to ensure that policies and procedures are followed, and rules and regulations are enforced.
- Maintain and post regular work schedule, approved by the Residential Program Manager, and ensure community has appropriate supervision.
- Assist senior residents in interviewing potential new residents (when available).
- Make room assignments as new residents are admitted.
- Ensure orientation of new residents on the day of admission and return completed file accordingly.
- Monitor Sign In/Sign Out Sheets daily, ensuring compliance with destination and curfew policy. File Sign In/Sign Out Forms and replace them as needed.
- Facilitate weekly house meeting and weekly meetings with senior (Level 4) residents.
- Support and monitor senior residents to ensure that they are carrying out their responsibilities to the community, that food and supplies are purchased and replenished consistently and promptly, and that the cleanliness and safety of the facility are maintained.
- Support and monitor all resident committees.
- Report all Write-ups to Residential Program Manager in a timely manner.
- Greet any guests and volunteers, including those who participate in events/activity, and sign in procedure is completed.
- Administer and record at least one monthly drug screen per resident, according to program policy.
- Meet weekly for supervision with Residential Program Manager.
- Be available to transport residents on outings and to meetings.
- Attend Staff/Treatment Team Meetings, if work schedule allows.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Residential Program Manager.
SCHEDULE
Shift 5p -9p or 9p – 9a; weekends 9a-9p and 9p-9a
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High School diploma
Experience
Minimum 2 years lived personal experience with substance misuse, homelessness, or life-stabilization challenges.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to personal recovery, responsible and consistent leadership
