Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using proper cleaning procedures.
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring the dining area remains tidy and welcoming.
- Follow all sanitation standards to maintain a clean kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy loads of dishware or supplies safely and correctly.
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning duties to uphold kitchen health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or other cleaning machinery is a plus.
- Basic knife skills or food handling experience is advantageous for supporting food prep tasks.
- Demonstrated understanding of kitchen health and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff during busy service times.
