Position Summary
The Residential Program Therapist provides clinical assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, family support, and crisis intervention services for adolescents receiving residential behavioral health treatment.
This position works collaboratively with nursing staff, behavioral health technicians, psychiatrists, leadership, and families to support resident progress and successful treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and clinical evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Family therapy/support
- Crisis intervention services
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches and trauma-informed care practices
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning
- Support residents in developing:
- Emotional regulation
- Coping skills
- Communication skills
- Behavioral stability
- Healthy social interactions
- Foster a safe, supportive, and therapeutic treatment environment
Qualifications
Required
Master’s degree in:
- Social Work
- Counseling
- Psychology
- Marriage & Family Therapy
- Related behavioral health field
- Active or eligible North Carolina licensure:
- LCSW/LCSWA
- LPC/LCMHC
- LMFT
- Or equivalent
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
- Adolescent residential experience
