INSTRUCTIONAL/DIRECT SERVICE1.
Assist with daily living skills, including toileting2. Implement behavior support plans3. Reinforce the learning of materials or skills4. Provides 1:1 academic support5.
Monitors progress towards IEP goals6. Assist the teacher in following through with activities outlined in the studentsIndividual Education Plan.7. Provide all necessary nursing care and complete all related documentationassociated with students during school hours including emergency medicalmanagement.8. Observe and assess each students medical status during their daily school routine;notify the family and/or physician if any adverse signs or symptoms occur.9.
Follow through with therapeutic programs/recommendations for students(occupational, speech, physical therapy, and behavior support plans).10. Work collaboratively under the supervision of the classroom teacher.B. DOCUMENTATION, EVALUATION, AND COMMUNICATION1. Submit all written reports, goals and objectives on a timely basis.2.
Keep student attendance, progress monitoring, third-party billing and otherdocumentation current and orderly.3. Abide by established work hours and follow policies and procedures outlined inthe North River Collaborative Personnel Policies & Procedures Handbook.4. Confer/meet with parents as needed and provide home suggestions whenindicated.5. Attend student meetings as requested.C.
HEALTH AND SAFETY1. Respond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance theirsocial/emotional health and personal development.2. Respond to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account awhole student perspective.3. With training, is able to apply de-escalation strategies if necessary to prevent astudent from harming themselves or others.4.
Able to safely lift students up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting studentsup to 100 lbs.5. Able to physically assist students during activities such as: toileting, personalhygiene, in/out of adaptive equipment and mechanical lifts, and other self-caretasks as needed.6. Able to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during anyemergency drills or actual emergencies.7. Able to safely and effectively participate in restraint training and to safelyperform physical escort and restraints as needed once trained.8.
Able to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once trained.D. ETHICAL1.
