Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment across various properties. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical knowledge, field service experience, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans. The technician will ensure optimal operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, contributing to property maintenance excellence. A valid <PERSON> driver’s license and experience with ammonia refrigeration are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Conduct equipment repair and replacement of components such as compressors, motors, valves, and thermostats.
- Utilize testing tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical problems within HVAC/R systems.
- Install new HVAC equipment following proper HVAC design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary.
- Carry out welding and other mechanical repairs to maintain system integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities and repairs for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC, refrigeration, or property maintenance roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and appliance repair is desirable.
- Field service experience with air conditioning units, HVAC/R systems, and equipment repair required.
- Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters.
- Construction or property maintenance background is advantageous.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s license required for travel between job sites. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse mechanical systems within a dynamic environment requiring technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
